Padiglione Cervia
A shelter for walkers and birdwatchers in the salt pans of Cervia, at the end of a two hundred metre boardwalk.
The pavilion is nothing more than a roof and a bench. Larch columns, larch roof, larch deck, all joined with timber pegs so that no steel touches the salt.
It was built in nine days by four carpenters, and it can be taken apart and moved if the pans are ever flooded for good.
